LifePak: What Is It?

Sudden cardiac arrest can happen at any time, and anywhere, and that is why there are different types of defibrillators, for different circumstances and first responders to use. earlier use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a cardiac emergency may be the only way to save a life. versatility in gear is important to the circumstance at hand, and that is why Medtronic, Inc. has offered different forms of LifePak defibrillators.

LifePak 1000 is a powerful and adaptable defibrillator for skilled responders. It has advanced capabilities that can improve lifesaving attempts, by speeding up the patient’s transition to a more critical level of care necessary. It is built to be rugged with a protective case and protective bumpers, so that it can be tossed in a vehicle and ride together with you. The LifePak Battery power provide more than 250 shocks, and are maintenance free. Features of the LifePak 1000 are:

CprMax Technology – Gives the option to provide CPR before dispensing a first electrical shock, making the unit more flexible.

EKG capability – Three-lead ECG perform is available if situation deems necessary.

The LifePak 500 is a semi-automatic defibrillator that uses the patented Shock Advisory System, and is intended for use by physicians, or medical specialists educated in CPR and AED use. It is to be used on patients who are showing no signs of flow. It has the same features as the LifePak 1000 and comes in monophasic, and biphasic electrical waveform models. The LifePak 500 performs an automatic self-test every twenty-four hours, and each time that you turn it on, to insure that it is working correctly for any emergency.

The LifePak CR Plus Defibrillator is fully automatic,with the same basic features as the other LifePak model, and is used in two simple steps. The first responder turns on the gadget, and is applicable the Quik-Pak electrode pads to the cardiac patient in distress. The unit is designed to deliver an electric shock, only if the coronary heart is determined to need one. The responder does not need to press a shock button on this model. The LifePak CR uses the same electrodes as other LifePak machines, and maintenance consists of weekly or monthly checks, to make sure that the battery is billed and functioning adequately.
